Inhibitions.

I have never really been entirely comfortable showing off skin. My inhibitions coupled with the fact that I have to travel to the other end of the city every day for my college does not help either.  So when I started with Score Over Style I knew this was where I could get some creative freedom to play around with hems that would not attract any attention of the wrong kinds.

This dress is where I find my comfort zone. It’s the right length, not too long and not too short. The dress has buttons on the front end and has a lovely tie around the middle to clinch it at my waist. Pair that with the perfect sleeve length and the closed up neck, makes it the perfect thing every day thing without being under or over dressed. I paired it with this gold beaded peter pan collar necklace to jazz up the closed neck of the dress. Then put on mustard heels to throw in some color to the outfit. Add to that a brown leather timepiece and brown sunnies with accents of gold in it to compliment the gold in the necklace. This dress in my opinion would fall straight into the category of skater dresses which have been an absolute favorite among young women around the globe.

Monotony Of Monochrome

Black never ceases to dominate my wardrobe irrespective of seasons, trends and even essentials. I continue to lust dreamy eyed over a couple of more black all time favorites, namely a leather jacket and ankle length boots, but unfortunately the city never provides me with an opportunity to wear either.

My eyes were laid on this throwover when I was just about scouting the streets looking for something that caught my attention. The material promised to be light and breezy and I knew it would be the perfect cover up for black on black. The print on it is something  I have grown extremely fond of, to the extent of working and incorporating it into assignments in terms of patterns and design. I tried breaking the monotony of monochrome by adding a dash of gold in the form of this necklace that was made by me over two years ago. The necklace has hints of muted matte and shiny gold stems, and its sheer versatility makes it the perfect go to accessory. Since the cloudy weather threatened dull and gloomy pictures, a pop of pink worked well on the lips. That paired with winged tip eyes using a black gel liner completed the make up for me.

INTO THE NIGHT

Day time casual dressing is usually a no brainer for all of us. It’s the night time events that come to haunt me like life taking nightmares. As someone who is very easily inspired by art and photography, I often spot things that I might incorporate into an outfit- just like I have , laying emphasis on the animal print.

This outfit that I put together has a varied number of unusual things. As intimidating as it is, the usage of animal print on such a massive scale (in my opinion) looks absolutely gorgeous. It’s true, I have been extremely fascinated by all the lovely animal print sarees that have such a huge place in my mother’s wardrobe. And so, I gave all the fashion rules a pass here, and went ahead with a high waisted palazzo in leopard print. Pairing print on print is a thing I still have room to learn about, and hence the playing it safe by teaming it up with a basic black top. The necklace is a piece of accessory I was recently gifted by my mom, and couldn’t have thought of a better way to add just the right amount of edge that junk jewelry exudes.

Another fashion rule that is broken here is playing up both the eyes and the lips. The dramatic red lips is a personal favourite and the smudged smokey eyes was an everyday routine until only sometime ago.The two paired together look a bit OTT for everyday wear , and has to be kept into consideration.I couldn’t think of anything that I could do with the hair and hence chose to let them be. The over doing of rings was plainly out of boredom, but somehow lend a little bohemian vibe to the look. This entire outfit could be worn as a day time dress too, and I would do just that -probably to a lunch or something- with a little bit of toning down.

TANGERINE.

This bright and happy color has taken the fashion world by a storm and how! Fashionistas swear by its beauty and quote it to be the next black for the fashion world. To add to its perks, it compliments the Indian skin tone exquisitely.

Here in this outfit :
THE POWER OF WHITE- Whites have always been giving our wardrobe that much needed push from basically elegant to quintessentially classy. The tangerine paired with white, compliments it perfectly. Accessories in this pure color never cease to win. Style your hair in braids, the summer favorite. Go bananas using white, because we know it will never look overdone.

Object Obsession.

How many times do we get our eyes on something, fall in love with it instantly, buy it and practically sleep with it every night? Object Obsession is a post you will find yourself immediately connecting with. For all those things that we buy and use ten thousand times a week.

OBJECT OF OBSESSION-BLACK RIDING PANTS

The very moment that I spotted these pants at a nearby clothing store, I knew I had to get them. The fit is a dream. Besides that, I really like the high waist thing happening. And I absolutely adore the fact that it has these beautiful gold buttons on it. It leads that classic old world charm to it. Also, I must confess I have already worn them thrice since getting them last week, because of the versatility. (Trust me- they go with almost everything.)

If you have an object of obsession, please do share it with SOS. We'd love to hear from you!
